Kelly Madcharo

Kelly Madcharo received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with minors in Psychology and Business.  She attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law and was admitted to the Bar in 1984.  Kelly worked for the Nebraska Medical Association for 14 years prior to coming to LMEP.  Kellyserves as the Director of the Nebraska Cancer Research Center and the Adolescent & Family Health Division which includes the School Community Intervention Program (SCIP), Training for Addiction Professionals Program (TAP), and the Young Families Program.  Kellyand her husband Mike have two children, Matt and Emily, and three pets, Cisco, Sonny and Fredo.  An avid KC Royals fan, Kelly also enjoys baking and caring for foster animals for the Capital Humane Society. 


Karri Donahue

Karri Donahue

Karri Donahue received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont.  She started her professional career as a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in the Burn Center and was employed there for 4 years before making a career change.  Karri joined The Nebraska Cancer Research Center in 2005 as a clinical research nurse.  She became a Certified Clinical Research Professional in 2008 through the Society of Clinical Research Associates.  Karri and her husband Paul have two daughters, Erika and Lydia.  Karri enjoys spending time with family and friends and if she gets free time she likes to bake and sew, especially rag quilts. 


 

Joanna Morgan

Joanna Morgan received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Lincoln.  She is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Nursing from UNMC.  Joanna brings Oncology Nursing experience to the Cancer Research Center as she previously worked as an Inpatient Oncology Registered Nurse.  Joanna and her husband, Terry, look forward to the fall every year when they can cheer on the Huskers! When Joanna is not busy with school, she likes to read, cook, travel, and spend time with family and friends.   


 

Jen Elmer

Jen Elmer received her degree in Registered Nursing from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Sioux City, IA. Prior to that she received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Il, and worked for WMBI radio station. Jen has worked for LMEP since 1999, originally working in the clinic, prior to starting in The Nebraska Cancer Research Center in 2004. Jen has one son, Nate, and a grand daughter,  Estella. In her free time, Jen enjoys cooking international cuisine, gardening, and collecting turtles. 


Chelsey Urbanski

Chelsey Urbanski

Chelsey received her license in Practical Nursing from Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, SD.  Sheand her husband, Justin, along with their two daughters, Jaden & Emma,moved to Nebraska in 2007. Chelsey has worked in pediatrics and long term care prior to starting at The Nebraska Cancer Research Center. In 2010,Jaden & Emmawelcomed their baby brother, Kash, into their family. In the summer Chelsey enjoys watching her daughters play softball on their traveling team, and traveling to warm tropical destinations during winter months!


Chris Wells

Chris Wells

Chris Wells received her license in practical nursing in 1978, working at the Beatrice Lutheran Hospital and Beatrice Developmental Center Hospital and two physician offices before coming to the Nebraska Cancer Research Center in 2006.  The mother of two sons, James and Robert, and Nana to Miranda and Zander Wells.  Enjoys family time, geneaology, reading,  and playing with her dog, Buddy.  Chris is a 50 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a 10 year member of the Circle of Wise Women and the Christian Reform Church in Lincoln. 


Jeri Herrera

Jeri Herrera

Jeri is a Certified Medical Assistant, receiving her diploma from Southeast Community College.  Jeri has been employed by LMEP since 1993 and worked in the Family Medicine Residency Program for 12 years before moving to CRC.  Prior to that she spent 5 years with Dr. Richard Olney, and started her career at East Lincoln Internal Medicine.  Jeri and her husband, Manuel, just celebrated their 40thwedding anniversary and have 3 grown children, Tanya, Jeremy, and Joel, who are all married, 2 granddaughters, Vienne and Lily, and 2 grandsons, Max and Riis, and another granddaughter due in December.  Jeri enjoys walking with her little dog Chloe, quilting, and gardening.
