The Nebraska Cancer Research Center
Since 1984, The Nebraska Cancer Research Center has been a vital resource to cancer patients in Lincoln and southeast Nebraska, their oncologists and radiation oncologists - and to people everywhere. We provide patients with local access to national clinical research trials while remaining at home. All of society benefits from the scientific advances that result from our research. In addition, patients can obtain wigs, scarves, and prostheses here at no cost while undergoing treatment.
The Nebraska Cancer Research Center is a leader among Community Clinical Oncology Programs (CCOPs) in research. We work closely with cancer patients and local physicians to identify more effective cancer treatments and therapies that produce fewer side effects. We welcome eligible patients into research trials, monitor their clinical treatments with their oncologists, and document results to benefit patients world-wide.
To improve the quality of life for all cancer patients, we also provide answers to many of the questions that accompany a cancer diagnosis. We help patients and their families cope by providing information about:
- Their diagnoses and current treatment protocols
- Local support groups
- Our wig bank, where patients may get free wigs, turbans, and breast prostheses
- Counseling available in our community
All of us are dedicated to helping individuals diagnosed with cancer and their families maintain control over their lives, understand their feelings and make informed decisions. Just click on any of the choices to your left to learn more about your options.
