Schools:
SCIP currently partners with 114 schools throughout Nebraska who have implemented the SCIP program.
School SCIP Teams are typically comprised of school representatives such as teachers, administrators, counselors, nurses, or social workers.
SCIP Team members attend a 4-day intensive training, preparing them to assist referred students and their families. They are educated to recognize warning signs that may indicate a more serious issue. Teams continue to receive ongoing education, resources and assistance from the LMEP- SCIP Coordinators.
SCIP Teams provide a support system within the school setting by offering assistance as necessary, in a confidential, caring manner.

Behavioral Health Agencies:
SCIP currently works in cooperative partnership with 30 community behavioral health agencies throughout Nebraska, who will provide a free screening for youth with suspected or existing behavioral, mental, or substance abuse disorders through a referral from their school’s SCIP team.
Without this service, many family’s needs may go unmet. The free SCIP screening provides that critical first step in determining how to best meet a student’s behavioral and emotional health needs; setting the foundation for them to successfully reach their full potential.
