ACLS Provider Course |
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) improves the quality of care provided to the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergency. Participants enhance their skills in treating arrest and per-arrest patients through a series of simulated cardiac and respiratory cases.
Course Prerequisites
Providers who take the ACLS Provider Course must be proficient in the following:
- Performing BLS CPR skills using the 2005 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and ECC
- Reading and interpreting ECGs
- Understanding ACLS drugs
- Performing the BLS Primary Survey and the ACLS Secondary Survey
Participants must print their scores from the ECG and pharmacology precourse assessment tests on the ACLS student CD and bring them to class to ensure that the students have prepared for the course.
Students who are unable to complete the self-directed training modules are unlikely to pass the ACLS Provider Course.
