School Community Intervention Program

To meet some of society's most pressing challenges, we provide our communities with varied tools to deal with behavioral health issues that impact children, adolescents and their families.

School Community Intervention Program (SCIP) is one of those valuable resources. SCIP works with schools in Lincoln, Lancaster County, and throughout Nebraska to identify students who are experiencing difficulties meeting scholastic expectations.

SCIP trains school professionals in public and private schools to intervene on behalf of youth at risk for drug and alcohol abuse and mental health concerns, such as eating disorders, depression, and suicide.

SCIP recognizes these can be difficult and confusing situations for parents and caregivers to address. Our goal is to be supportive by providing resources that people may not be aware of that can help them find assistance, in case they need it. We do this by collaborating with schools and agencies across the state of Nebraska to provide free screenings and evaluations to determine if further services would benefit the student involved.

SCIP educates teachers and other school personnel to work on behalf of students and their families so that they will more successfully reach their potential.
