Lincoln Family Medicine Center, a program of the Lincoln Medical Education Partnership, currently has a FT opening for a Certified Medical Coding Specialist. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in medical coding is required. Certification is preferred. This is an in-office position (not remote). This person is responsible for coordinating, verifying, distributing, and managing all coding services.

 This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT, Category II, E/M coding, and at least two years of hands-on billing and coding experience in a health care organization. Certification in medical billing and coding is preferred. Responsible for providing superior, high-volume service in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking a team player who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task in our busy office.

As a CMA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our clinic setting. The successful candidate will possess strong medical administrative skills and a solid understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and medication administration.

Duties:

• Provide exceptional patient care by assisting with vital signs, patient intake, and discharge processes.

• Administer medications and injections as directed by medical providers.

• Assist with minor procedures and perform phlebotomy as needed.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

• Operate electronic health records (EHR) systems to document patient information.

• Handle urgent care situations with professionalism and a sense of urgency.

• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure effective communication and patient care.

• Participate in Level I Trauma Center activities and inpatient care as required.

• Demonstrate a commitment to patient care and adhere to clinic policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and medication administration.

• Experience working in a clinic setting or urgent care environment.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

• Ability to lift and move patients as necessary.

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
